In partnership with Tulsa Film Collective, we bring you a spooky October speaker. Establishing ILL WILLED PRODUCTION in 2004, SFX artist Tate Steinsiek began providing SFX Makeup, prosthetic application, and prop fabrication to the film and television industry. Since establishment, Ill Willed has built a client roster including The Jim Henson Company, Dreamworks, Seraphim Films, Lionsgate, MTV, SYFY, Sony Films, Dark Sky Films, Don Post Studios, The History Channel, National Geographic, The Discovery Channel, Guitar World Magazine, Spirit Halloween, and is represented as a Director and FX artist by The Gersh Agency. In his 12 year career, Tate has coordinated films/television in 11 countries.
Tate Steinsiek and his work have been featured internationally in Galleries, workshops and seminars. 2015 & 2016 alone saw his workshop series ” ILL WILLED FX WORKSHOPS” hold class in the United States, Ireland, London, Spain, Mexico, Canada, China, and Germany. Tate regularly speaks and demo’s at the IMATS NY & London, collaborating with Emmy Winning FX Artist Steve Johnson, and The Makeup Show NYC collaborating with Academy Award winner Ve Neil on a makeup demonstration.
Tate has also written and directed a number of award winning screenplays & films Including “CLOWN” which won the $10, ooo Boost Mobile ScreenPlay competition, then the following CLOWN short film, that won “Best if the Next in Horror” at the 2008 Screamfest awards. Other Films include the 2016 Feature ADDICTION: A 60’S LOVE STORY, starring Ian Harding, Evanna Lynch,Carol Kane, Michael Badalucco, Brendan Sexton III, and Leo Fitzpatrick. Short films include “My Winter’s Coat”, and the unnerving “The Devoured” starring Peter Greene, and Vitali Baganov.
Tate is a two time finalist on SYFY’s hit show FACE OFF, having finished Runner Up in both Season 1 & Season 5, competing in two finales, 22 episodes, of which winning or placing top look in 10 episodes. As a result, Tate and his work were the feature focus in a National Commercial campaign from CHASE BANK/ CHASE Rewards, where he had a solo series of commercials as spokesperson, and a video tutorial series on Syfy.com, and appearing as a guest on the Katie Couric Halloween Special.
