
Sterlin Harjo // 02.18.16
Sterlin Harjo belongs to the Seminole and Creek Nations and is a filmmaker and founding member of the all Native comedy group the 1491s.
Harjo is a native of Holdenville, Oklahoma. He studied painting at the University of Oklahoma before writing his first feature-length script. Later he studied screenwriting in the University of Oklahoma’s Film and Video Studies Program. In 2006, he received a fellowship from the newly formed United States Artists foundation.
Harjo’s four feature length films have premiered at festivals that include; Sundance, Toronto, ImagineNative, Stockholm, and Venice.
